Wasatch Backcountry Rescue (WBR)
Wasatch Backcountry Rescue (WBR) is a nonprofit team of elite avalanche professionals dedicated to saving lives in Utah’s Wasatch Mountains. Working alongside county Search and Rescue teams, WBR provides rapid response to avalanches, winter emergencies, and medical evacuations using highly trained rescuers and search dogs. Their deep knowledge of local terrain and snow conditions makes them a critical first line of response in one of the country’s busiest backcountry regions.
Beyond rescue, WBR is committed to prevention through education- teaching backcountry users safe travel practices and self-rescue skills. Made up of top ski and field experts and connected globally through alpine rescue networks, WBR combines innovation, training, and collaboration to protect and serve the mountain community.
